Justin has a deep love for nature and a passion for environmental coverage of all types. Before pursuing journalism at UT, he spent five years volunteering at the Houston Zoo. His last two years at the Zoo were spent as a member of the Teen Leadership Council, where he oversaw the creation of environmental curriculum and training materials that he used to train new teen volunteers on conservation education. Now, Justin reports for Drift Magazine among other publications, writing about state parks, local environmental legislation and more. He believes that environmental reporting is vital now and will only grow in relevance in the future.
